Last Saturday was a sad day-another baby leaving the nest! Now I know Joe's not a baby anymore, but when a big day occurs, you always remember that they were once your baby and it's sad to see them go out into the big world, and not be around to share in the day-to-day living at home. But Joe's finishing up college and going to get a permanent job soon in Harrisburg and it was time to make the big leap at almost 24 y.o. and get your own place! He's renting half a house (a duplex) in Dauphin, near Harrisbug, but still country. Aimee was in charge or picture taking, as she went along to help, but as you will see, she got so involved in the beautiful scenery along the way, that she forgot to take pictures
of the house! Those will have to follow in another post.

Joe-tired after lugging out loads of things-only one room, but even at 24, you accumulate lots of things!

Caitie, taking a break, but still smiling!

Some of the gang, making decisions?

Of course, to the kids, this was a fun day! They take every opportunity for new and fun ways to play!

Loading Matt's truck-Matt let Joe borrow his big, nice truck, first to go to Maryland to G-dads and get a sofa and chair. Thanks to Matt for being so generous with something that is important to him and thanks to G-dad for parting with his basement sofa and chair! (I don't think Dad minded getting rid of more stuff in the basement and probably would have liked to have parted with more!) G-dad also sent me a nice recliner that reminds me of my mom, for my new expanded basement family room! Thanks, Dad!

Taking a little time off for texting! My kids sure have fun with texting-Joe might have even been texting Caitie if she was upstairs! They all do that a lot-it's easier than running up and getting someone!

The final goodbye!

Headed out of New Bloomfield. (Caitie and Aimee are driving Joe's Jeep behind Joe)

A farm between N. Bloomfield and Dauphin.

On to 322 along the Susquehanna River.

Along Mountain Rd. (this picture is out of order)

The Susquehanna River from the bridge on 322. As you can see, it's a beautiful drive from here to there. It's why I don't mind too much going over the mountain to civilization and malls! We'll miss you, Joe! Next week is Liz's final goodbye and Sat. Erin & Jason & kids move out of the basement! What a sad and happy month! As a mom, you have to be happy that your children are happy and since they are all happy about their departures, I am too. It's a crazy mix of emotions!
P.S.- You've got to be impressed that I'm actually getting more blogs up lately!
