A Special Day Remembered
This has always been a very special day to all of us-my mom's birthday! Today she would have been 76. Yesterday we would have all gotten together at Jeff & Debbie's and celebrated her birthday, Mother's Day, and Alex & Ryan's birthdays! It was an annual tradition! Debbie would fix a great meal with birthday cakes and presents and it would be a special day for Mom because we would all be together (except for Erin & Michelle and their families lately). But sadly, that tradition won't go on anymore. But one day, we'll carry it on when we're all together again in Heaven! For now, we'll carry the memory of her in our hearts, in a special place we keep with all the wonderful things that remind us of her-like the special "Happy Mother's Day" socks I wore yesterday in her honor, pies, Longaberger baskets, the smell on her clothes that the kids say "smells like Grandmom", Cal Ripken, bichons, special napkins at holidays, iced tea, hot tea in teacups, Christmas time,....................the list goes on and on, as do the memories, too numerous to fit in a blog post!

Awww, mom, yours made me cry too! You and Erin just have a way with words... you always know the right things to say! Sorry you didn't have your mom to wish a Happy Mother's day to... but find comfort that you will get to see her again!! :)
